Our Trip To England – A Week We Won‘t Forget (Iman Ahmed, 9b & Zelal Celiker, 9b)

Two weeks before the summer holidays started, we had the opportunity to travel to England with our school. Before the trip, we prepared everything together with our AG and planned what we wanted to do during our five-day journey. We learned more about the places we were going to visit and got ready for new experiences.

Monday

We met at school at 6.30 am and started our journey. The bus ride took about 12 hours including the ferry crossing and several breaks at gas stations. When we finally arrived in Eastbourne, we checked into our hotel and got out room cards. We unpacked our things and in the evening, we went to the beach for the first time and enjoyed the beautiful view of the ocean and watched the sunset together.

Tuesday

We started the day with breakfast and then with a guided tour around Eastbourne. Our guide told us many interesting facts about the town and its history, music and culture. Afterwards we went shopping at the Beacon shopping centre and we also visited Tesco to buy snacks or lunch. In the evening we spent more time together at the beach and enjoyed the fresh air.

Wednesday

One of the highlights of the trip was our visit to London. We saw famous sights such as Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, the London Eye and the Shard. We also took lots of photos and had lunch. It was really warm and later we could explore London a bit and there were many tourists shops in almost every corner. After returning to Eastbourne, we finished the day at the beach.

Thursday

On Thursday we visited Brighton. One of the highlights was the free ice cream we got. We took part in a fun photo challenge where each group chose a colour and photographed objects matching that colour to create a collage. After we explored the city, we went shopping with our groups in a mall. Then we headed back before spending our last evening together at the beach.

Friday

Sadly it was time to say goodbye. We packed our bags and got back on the bus and travelled home. We returned with fun memories and many photos that we will never forget.

Overall, the trip was an amazing experience. We discovered new places and had a fun time with our friends. We are very grateful to our teachers for organizing such a fantastic trip and we will always remember this special week in England.
